JEE Mains is an Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). earlier it was known as AIEEE. Every year approximately 10 to 12 lakh students apply for JEE Mains and about 6 to 7 lakh students qualify the exam and on the basis of the rank list prepared after JEE Exam also include a percentage of 10+2, therefore only 17000 students make it to the National Institute of Technology (NIT). From the year 2019 onward JEE Mains is being conducted twice in a year in the month of January and April.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • There is no age limit to appear in JEE Mains from the year 2018 onwards.

  • Candidates can appear in this exam for three consecutive years.

  • Every year candidates can appear twice in the JEE Mains exam, but only the best one result among two exams will be counted and considered.

  • Candidates need to have a minimum 75% marks for General category and 65% for SC and ST category in class 12th or in Equivalent exam or to be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th conducted by any board.

  • Candidates must have 5 subjects in class 12th in which Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are mandatory.


Exam Pattern:

  • Exam mode - Online

  • Duration - 3 hours

  • Question types - Multiple choice question.

  • For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded and for each incorrect answer, negative 1 mark will be awarded.

  • The total number of questions is 90 ( 30  questions in each subject Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics)

  • Total marks are 360.

  • JEE Mains will be held in two sitting


Fee Structure:

  • For Gen Category & OBC - Male candidates  INR 500 only/- 

  • For Gen Category & OBC -Female candidates INR 250 only/-

  • SC/ST/PWD/Transgender - Male and Female candidates INR 250 only/-

  • For Transgender - INR 250 only/-
