In India Interpretation of the job is different from the real definition as Indian people always go behind stability and Technology business is no field of stability because every day is fresh, new and innovative either you are ready to take all the challenges thrown at you or you end up having guilty of why Engineering.
IIT’s & NIT's -
As we know IIT’s and NIT’s are the institutes of national importance which mean students studying in these institutions represents the Quality of education in India so they are provided with every resource to make their future bright and successful. Indian government makes sure that these students should become a pioneer in the field of technology. Students also work hard and remain focused to chase their dreams. because of all this IIT’s graduates get offers of a whopping sum ranging from 12 LPA – 120 LPA whereas NIT’s undergraduates get offers ranging between 6 LPA – 12 LPA. Life is quite a descent for IIT’s & NIT’s graduates.
State Government Institutions-
State government colleges are not able to provide required resources because of which students from many state government colleges end up getting an annual salary package of 1 LPA – 4 LPA. Though there are some exceptions who cross the line of an institution and end up getting packages above 4 LPA.
Private Institutions are the business ground where education is being sold on the basis of affordability. Students in India are more attracted to external exposure which big institutions make use to lure students by showing incorrect information and they may fall into the trap.
In India, there are only 20 private institutions who are able to provide annual salary package of above 4 LPA and those institutes maintain standards in education, standard in Staff and faculty selections, Campus structure, Research facilities, etc. These institutes are charging 2 – 4 lakhs per annum from students and even after paying that much students are unsure to be placed high.
Rest of all the private institutions (around 4000) placement statistics never touch the mark of 4 LPA. This is the result of the worst quality of education, Worst college staff, and faculties, etc. these institutions do not conduct any entrance examinations, they are no facilities, no labs, etc. these institutes have only 100- 200 students which are quite less for Engineering colleges and in reality these students are wasting their money and time.
Note: All of this is the current scenario of Indian engineering graduates whose decision of choosing to be an engineer has proved to be a big mistake of their life and because of which “Engineering” is being treated as a shame for many.
India is a country of intelligent minds where education is the asset which everyone wants to avail. But Desire for the asset has created havoc of misinterpretation and misguidance. Study of technology or in other words Engineering is the trendsetter for Indian minds and everyone is going behind the same goals. Technology is the pace for development and requirement for skilled engineers is the necessity of the world.
In India, Engineering is treated as the fixed career choice for many without considering the interests in the field. Because of this nature of Indian minds engineering has turned out to be a big business module where everyone is making money on the verge of Student’s career. In India four types of engineering are available. First and second is IIT & NIT, everyone in India considers the best options are available only for fewer prices so what our government does. IIT & NIT are the premier government institutes where fees are low and scope for handsome salary is very high so to reach that goal around 15,00,000 students try and only 75,000 students win that marathon to reach those premier institutions.
What happens with 14 lakhs Students?
Then there comes third & fourth category, State government colleges & private institutions where Student's career is in big danger because all the valuable resources have been given to IIT and NIT, what left is served to remaining students and because of so many reasons students take admission in many Private and State-funded Institutions without knowing how their lives are going to be after 4 years.
Current Scenario of Engineering Institutions:
According to the HRD ministry, India has 6,214 engineering and technology institutions which are enrolling 2.9 million students. Around 1.5 million engineers are released into the job market every year. But the dismal state of higher education in India ensures that they simply do not have adequate skills to be employed.
AICTE wants to close down about 800 engineering colleges across India. There are no takers for their seats, and admissions are plunging in these colleges every year. Nearly 150 colleges are closed down voluntarily every year due to stricter AICTE rules. According to a rule of the council, colleges that lack proper infrastructure and report less than 30% admissions for five consecutive years will have to be shut down. AICTE has approved the progressive closure of more than 410 colleges across India, from 2014-15 to 2017-18.
Engineering and Technology is the third major stream with 41.6 lakh students enrolled. The share of male students enrolled in Engineering is 71.6%. This stream has 17 substreams like Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc. The top 5 substream is Mechanical Engineering with 9.5 Lakh students, Computer Engineering 10 Programs cover more than 84% of the total students enrolled in higher education AISHE 2016-17 Page 13 of 50 with 8.0 Lakh students, Electronics Engineering with 6.9 Lakh students, Civil Engineering with 6.3 lakh students and Electrical Engineering with 4.4 Lakh students enrolled.
India is a country where engineering is pursued without proper information, guidance, etc and results are here only 7% of Indian graduated are skilled enough to be employed causing unemployability to 93% of Indian Engineering graduates.
